Living at Lake Pointe has been one of the biggest blessings for me since moving to Starkville. The location provides ample privacy and is a great place for my pup to run around and make friends. The apartments are of good quality, the property owners are prompt and respectful, and the neighbors are friendly. One of the best things about Lake Point is the maintenance man. He is reliable, on time, polite, and knowledgable. He comes in with a smile on his face and works diligently until the job is done. I also feel extremely safe when he is around, which is a big deal considering I am a female. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and look forward to another year at Lake Pointe.

My wife and I are young professionals that were in Starkville for two years while I worked on a degree. I was previously a student here from 1999-2005 so I am more than familiar with the Starkville rental scene. In that vein, I have found that living at Lake Pointe was my best experience aside from my personal ownership my first time around.
Nothing within the Starkville city limits comes close to the peace and quiet found at Lake Pointe. Living in the Cotton District is equivalent to living on Bourbon Street during football weekends, and the big "roommate plan" places in town might have some other creature comforts, but you could be paired with the Unabomber unbeknownst to you.
* Craig and Danielle Reeder (the owners) do a better than average job of communicating and scheduling repairs.
* The buildings are nice and new. I had a few friends that lived here back in the early, early 2000's and they've not changed much. Modern and clean!
* If you're not an animal person, this might not be the place for you. Lots of very friendly dogs and owners live out here (mostly vet students) and they enjoy letting the dogs play in the grassy parking lot between the driveways. We had a 15 year old lab that enjoyed having friends. When he passed away, Craig had no problem allowing me to stop paying my additional "pet rent".
Overall, this place and the experience here over the last year has certainly been pleasant. I am certain that I will recommend this place to any family and friends that will be living in the area.
**Would recommend to friends and family**
**Would lease from again**

The previous post pretty much hit the nail on the head! Putting a blackout curtain on the western exposure window solves the upstairs AC problem. I also thought the cleaning when I moved in was below excellent but that was a minor thing. This is definitely a great complex on a beautiful plot of land and I would stay here until I bought a place if my boo and I didn't need immediate access to biking and running. That's our after-work passion and it was just too far from well-lit and safe roads (safe as in not twisting an ankle or going over the handlebars--it is safe in all other aspects). You are definitely out of Starkville proper at Lake Pointe! You can still see the stadium lights so not tooooooo far. Craig and Danielle are hands-off yet communicative landlords--very accessible/responsive and even anticipatory of your needs. The units are in great condition and everyone is very respectful and friendly. We were very satisfied with our living situation at Lake Pointe. Highly Recommended! The prices just went up though. The listed price on this website is not correct.

Lake Pointe is a great complex. The buildings are newer and in good condition. There is a high concentration of vet school students--this is not a party place complex. There are also professors and some young professionals. I believe there are a few undergrads living on site, but again, this is not a place for rowdy kids. People kept their back porches nice and don't leave their garbage out...stuff like that. If you're not into being a respectful neighbor, this is not the right complex for you. The complex is about 5 miles from starkville proper. There is lots of land and a small pond. It's a great place for dogs. CONS: there is pet "rent" in addition to the deposit. The grounds crew is polite and does a great job but they don't come often enough. You'll have great landscaping! but a couple days each month in the summer you'll have a meadow for a back yard. The cleaning crew that came before I moved in was only quasi-professional, meaning it was clear that they cleaned the place but didn't quite meet the standard of what I would consider an excellent job. That said, I requested further cleaning and after that, it was fine. The AC can't compete with the full sun--your top floor will be ten degrees hotter than the ground floor in June, July, and August.
Your landlords live out of town but are very responsive to email. Your maintenance man also lives out of town so sometimes it's a couple day before your request is filled, but again, these are newer complexes so it's not like things are breaking down left and right. The buildings are in great shape--no bug problems. Most of the units have carpet in the living room which is just a personal thing for me--carpet kinda grosses me out. My unit had stained concrete throughout the downstairs, which was awesome.
There is plenty of parking on site. Utilities per month are: $25 for water, ~$100 for electric. Internet/cable is pretty high: $80 per month but lots of folks split. In fact pretty much everyone shares with their neighbor.

Great way to live close to campus without feeling like you live close to campus. So peaceful, it feels like you are on vacation. Very animal friendly. At first I was concerned about the landlord not living close by, but quickly I learned that the landlord is very understanding and will work with you to keep the apartment maintained. I had a better experience here than any other place I lived during my 8 years in Starkville!
For those people looking for a comfortable, serene, and beautiful place to live, renting here is ideal for you!

I have thoroughly enjoyed living here. It was such a relief to find such a wonderful, quiet place to live in Starkville. The residents here are graduate students, vet students, or adult couples, so it is always very quiet and peaceful. It is also a very pet friendly place. The landlord is a very nice person and always takes care of whatever problems may arise while you are living here. The townhouses are nice and they have a beautiful view overlooking the lake. I will miss this place when I move away (I have graduated and I am moving out of Starkville, or else I would still be living there).

It is a wonderful place to live!!! My experience could not have been better. It is absolutely beautiful with wooden decks overlooking a lake. It is very quiet and peaceful with friendly neighbors and is close to campus. The apartments are very well taken care of and the landlord takes great care of everything! I would recommend these apartments to anyone!

Wonderful place to live! Spacious townhouse apartments that are clean and have decks overlooking a lake. A great place for a family, graduate student or veterinary student that enjoys peace and quiet. Landlord is very friendly and helpful. If anything ever needs to be fixed he is easy to contact and will have it resolved quickly. I highly recommend Lake Pointe Apartments!

Great place to live because of the quiet and country setting, but pretty far from town and campus. A dog's paradise. Neighbors are extremely friendly. Can only get satellite. Landlord lives on the coast so sometimes it is a pain to get in touch with him, but he's pretty good at getting things fixed on time. Overall, a nice place to live if you don't go out very much.
